Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain the organization's platform

• Automate and establish a runtime production environment

• Act as a liaison between application teams and platform teams

• Promote best practices and enhance communication among teams

• Assess solutions and implementations against tasks and business needs

• Proactively identify and resolve business challenges

• Create small components to tackle specific issues

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to integrate components into a unified platform

• Estimate time and resources required for medium-sized tasks

• Manage the connection between application development and the production environment

• Accept additional responsibilities as the organization's needs change

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is mandatory

• Proven track record as a Platform Engineer or in a similar position, emphasizing system architecture and development

• Documented experience with Kubernetes, Google Cloud, and Docker

• Understanding of continuous delivery, distributed architectures, everything-as-code, containerization, and cloud services

• Proficient in at least one programming language, such as Python, Go, or Ansible

• Basic knowledge of shell scripting

• Skilled in YAML

• Strong analytical skills and ability to work autonomously

• Excellent communication abilities and skills for cross-functional collaboration

• Comfortable with debugging systems and reading/writing code

• Familiarity with DevSecOps/DevOps principles and CI/CD theory

• Capability to obtain and maintain a clearance

• Current Secret clearance is highly preferred

• Experience working on an Agile team in a remote setting is preferred

• Background in security automation and API, container, and cloud security is preferred

• Knowledge of architecture security design, monitoring, and performance instrumentation is preferred

• DoD 8570 IAT II certification is preferred

• Experience with the Department of Defense and production Authority to Operate (ATO’d) system is preferred
