Platform Architect – Data Focused

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Solution Architecture Lead to assess options, make design choices, and decompose complex tasks into manageable increments.

• Develop services and integrations, evaluate changes, resolve issues, and assist in transitioning solutions to production.

• Gain insight into legacy systems, shape data models and integration agreements, and aid in the planning, execution, and validation of migrations.

• Guide engineers, address obstacles, and make decisions that balance delivery, reliability, and maintainability.

• Engage with government partners and business stakeholders to grasp requirements, clarify decisions, and document what others need to create and maintain the system.

• Participate in collaborative online mob and pair programming sessions.

• Share accountability for delivery and contribute wherever your expertise can advance the work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record of delivering complex software solutions and influencing technical decisions, either as an architect or an experienced engineer ready to take on that role.

• Up-to-date, hands-on programming experience across services, APIs, databases, and automated testing frameworks.

• Capability to link system design with implementation, articulate tradeoffs, and navigate a problem through to resolution.

• Working familiarity with relational databases and SQL.

• Experience in integrating systems or evolving applications with pre-existing data.

• A desire to take responsibility for migration challenges.

• Strong communication skills, collaborative problem-solving abilities, and a comfort level in taking ownership as priorities shift within a small team.

• Experience with relevant technologies and a willingness to learn Node.js, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Kafka, and AWS are advantageous.

• Background in legacy modernization, data migration, event-driven systems, and federal project experience are beneficial additional assets.
