Planning Engineer – Solar Projects

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania.

📋 Description

• Create, oversee, and revise the comprehensive construction schedule.

• Develop and uphold the master schedule.

• Formulate daily, weekly, and monthly planning strategies.

• Monitor critical path tasks and pinpoint potential delays.

• Ensure appropriate sequencing across civil, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning activities.

• Track progress on a daily and weekly basis.

• Gather data from Site Managers and subcontractors.

• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports.

• Maintain dashboards to highlight risks or bottlenecks.

• Assist in KPI monitoring, milestone tracking, and project performance analysis.

• Coordinate subcontractor schedules with the project baseline.

• Oversee subcontractor productivity and aid in evaluating planned versus actual progress.

• Support project controls, including manpower forecasting, material and equipment availability, resource allocation, and claims preparation related to delays or variations.

• Preserve planning documentation and aid in final handover preparations.

• Collaborate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, QA/QC, HSE, Procurement, and Commissioning teams.

• Work closely with the Construction Manager and site disciplines to ensure timely achievement of milestones.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is essential.

• 3–5 years of experience in construction planning for industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.

• Robust technical expertise in construction planning, EPC execution, and project sequencing.

• Capability to interpret schedules, progress curves, resource plans, and commissioning timelines.

• Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and coordination capabilities.

• Ability to perform under deadlines and project pressures.

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

• Practical understanding of site execution realities.

• Fluency in English is required.

• Experience with utility-scale solar projects is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with Primavera P6 or MS Project is considered beneficial.

• Experience with commissioning schedules, grid connection milestones, or project controls is an added plus.

• A Master’s degree in Engineering or Project Management is an advantage.
