This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Evaluate building regulation applications, plans, and technical submissions to ensure they comply with Building Regulations and relevant legislation.

• Analyze architectural, structural, fire safety, accessibility, and energy-related documentation.

• Detect compliance issues and offer clear, practical, and proportionate technical advice.

• Oversee statutory consultations with Fire and Rescue Authorities as necessary.

• Review revised submissions and assist applicants throughout the approval process.

• Keep precise records and ensure assessments are completed within statutory deadlines.

• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues within the broader building control team.

• Facilitate knowledge-sharing, technical training, and mentoring activities as appropriate.


⛳️ Requirements

• Valid Class 2A -D Building Inspector (RBI) registration with the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

• Significant experience in Building Control and plan assessment within England.

• Comprehensive understanding of Building Regulations, Approved Documents, and relevant legislation.

• Proficient in assessing technical drawings and building regulation applications.

• Knowledge of fire safety requirements and statutory consultation processes.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical requirements.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting while handling a diverse caseload.

• Experience in working with domestic, commercial, and higher-risk buildings is desirable.

• Familiarity with complex or technically challenging projects is desirable.

• Experience in mentoring or supporting fellow building control professionals is desirable.

• Professional qualifications in building surveying, construction, engineering, or a related field are desirable.
