Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Mexico.

📋 Description

• Deliver clinical assessments, diagnoses, and ongoing management for patients seeking Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for opioid or alcohol use disorders via Telehealth.

• Prescribe and oversee MAT medications, including both oral and injectable forms of buprenorphine and naltrexone.

• Perform comprehensive medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic assessments.

• Collaborate with physicians, counselors, peer support workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop personalized treatment plans.

• Educate patients on substance use disorders, MAT, lifestyle modifications, coping strategies, and prevention of relapse.

• Track patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.

• Manage care for co-occurring conditions.

• Keep precise and timely electronic health records for patient interactions, treatment plans, and medication management.

• Ensure adherence to federal and state regulations, MAT guidelines, HIPAA, and controlled substance documentation standards.

• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation when required.

• Engage in ongoing quality improvement initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree in nursing (APRN), physician assistant (PA), or a related field.

• Current, unrestricted state license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

• Board Certification.

• Valid DEA registration status.

• At least 1 year of clinical experience.

• Minimum of 0.5 years of experience in addiction medicine, particularly in MAT clinics.

• Comprehensive knowledge of MAT protocols, medications, and treatments for opioid, stimulant, benzodiazepine, and alcohol use disorders.

• Experience with behavioral health and counseling techniques is advantageous.

• Strong clinical evaluation and diagnostic abilities.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and collaborate efficiently with healthcare teams.

• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and documentation requirements specific to MAT settings.

• Strong background in Telehealth.

• Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or PA.

• Valid license to practice in New Mexico.
