Physical Therapist Assistant – Home Health

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Advocate for Elara Caring's philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure the delivery of quality care.

• Provide direct physical therapy services in accordance with established standards of practice and physician certification.

• Adhere to the Plan of Care set forth by the Physical Therapist.

• Operate under the guidance of the Physical Therapist.

• Communicate any changes in patient status to the Physical Therapist.

• Comply with State Practice Act Guidelines.

• Confirm the Plan of Care prior to each visit.

• Deliver care based on physician orders, assessment data, and established standards and guidelines.

• Integrate patient care objectives from the Plan of Care into therapy services.

• Educate patients and their families on the safe usage of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices.

• Train patients and caregivers on the therapy home program.

• Report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or their designee.

⛳️ Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy assistant program recognized by the American Therapy Association.

• Hold a current, unrestricted PTA license valid in the state of employment.

• A minimum of 6 months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred.

• Willingness and ability to travel within the branch/office coverage area, including communities in Houston.

• Have a reliable vehicle.

• Possess a valid driver’s license.

• Maintain current auto insurance in compliance with state regulations.

• Must be able and willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

• Capable of frequently lifting, pushing, pulling, and supporting up to 50 pounds, including the positioning or transferring of patients and moving equipment.

• Ability to function in a physically demanding and high-stress environment.

• Full range of body motion, including handling, lifting, and transferring patients.

• Availability to work irregular hours, including on-call hours if necessary.
