This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Identify, qualify, nurture, solicit, and maintain relationships with a portfolio of donors and funders contributing $10,000 or more annually.
β’ Develop and oversee a portfolio of around 150 major gift donors and potential supporters.
β’ Design personalized engagement and stewardship plans tailored for each donor.
β’ Hold face-to-face meetings with donors for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts.
β’ Seek and qualify new potential donors.
β’ Diligently record donor and prospect interactions in the database while ensuring confidentiality and trust.
β’ Discover innovative engagement opportunities for donors and prospects, including events, gatherings, and collaboration with MVP volunteers.
β’ Work alongside organizational leadership and cross-departmental teams to strategize fundraising and develop donor relationships.
β’ Collaborate with the donor organizing team to inspire and mobilize donors.
β’ Assist donors in leveraging their networks to support grassroots movements and aligned campaigns.
β’ Organize and engage in donor events, conferences, and other related gatherings.
β’ Enhance MVPβs visibility and impact in the San Francisco Bay Area through strategic outreach and networking efforts.
β’ Attend conferences, training sessions, and donor convenings to expand the supporter and donor base.
β’ Contribute to a cross-functional team environment.
β’ Report to the Western Regional Philanthropic Director.
β’ Travel 10β25% for in-person donor engagement.
β’ At least five years of experience in soliciting major gifts ($10,000+) and seeking new donors.
β’ Proven success in managing a portfolio of major donors.
β’ Ability to function independently with limited administrative support.
β’ Strong project management and organizational skills.
β’ Proficiency in using donor databases and handling confidential information.
β’ Knowledge of and enthusiasm for social justice, progressive movements, and/or Democratic politics.
β’ Familiarity with the philanthropic landscape in the Bay Area.
β’ Currently residing in one of the nine Bay Area counties.
β’ Previous experience in the progressive social movement arena, preferably within multi-entity organizations (c3, c4, PAC).
β’ Exceptional relationship-building skills.
β’ Excellent writing and editing capabilities.
β’ Ability to juggle multiple deadlines and priorities effectively.
β’ Detail-oriented with strong follow-through.
β’ Strategic thinking and planning abilities.
