This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Create and execute innovative AI algorithms and models for general-purpose humanoid robots and embodied agents.
• Develop extensive AI training and inference methodologies for foundational models.
• Enhance and deploy AI models within physical simulations and on robotic hardware.
• Work in collaboration with research and engineering teams throughout NVIDIA to translate research into products and services.
• Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
• Exceptional engineering abilities in rapid prototyping and model training frameworks (such as PyTorch, Jax, TensorFlow, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python is mandatory; skills in C++ and CUDA are advantageous.
• Strong capabilities in handling large-scale machine learning/AI systems and computer infrastructure.
• Experience with multimodal foundation models or robotics is required.
• Practical training background and publications in LLMs, vision-language models, video generative models, diffusion models, or action-based transformers, or in robot learning.
• Comprehensive knowledge of robot kinematics, dynamics, and sensors.
• Competence in safely operating robotic hardware, laboratory equipment, and tools.
• Understanding of control techniques such as PID, MPC, and whole body control.
• Familiarity with physics simulation frameworks like Mujoco and the Isaac suite.
