Pharmacy Technician – Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Evaluate insurance claims and address rejections in a multi-state setting.

• Effectively manage order exceptions such as refill-too-soon and invalid orders.

• Collaborate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions and secure prior authorizations.

• Oversee routine notifications of insurance-related issues and communicate with caregivers.

• Keep abreast of current Medicare/Medicaid policies and prevalent insurance practices.

• Work collaboratively to address common coverage issues or concerns.

⛳️ Requirements

• Working knowledge of Medicare Part D, Medicaid, and Managed Medicaid in Texas.

• At least one year of experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy setting.

• Over 1 year of recent experience with FrameworkLTC.

• Must hold a TX State Board of Pharmacy Technician License.

• Capable of typing an average of 50 words per minute.

• Strong phone skills, as well as excellent verbal and written communication abilities, along with active listening skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, including Outlook and Excel.

• Comfortable making phone calls and managing challenging conversations.

• Familiarity with basic pharmacy terminology to interpret prescriptions.

• Preferred: 3+ years of experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy environment.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.

• Team-oriented individual willing to support other departments as needed.

• Effective communication with leadership and colleagues.

• Availability for occasional overtime is required.

• Must endure long hours of computer screen time.

• Involves repetitive motion desk work.
