Pharmacy Analyst – 340B

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Assist the Pharmacy Department in enhancing operational efficiency through effective fiscal management activities, data analysis, and the preparation of departmental statistics and reports.

• Create and oversee databases and manage projects utilizing both cost accounting and IT skills.

• Ensure that departmental billing procedures are accurate and timely.

• Coordinate accounting and financial processes, internal controls, and System-wide accounting functions.

• Lead and manage the split billing for 340B entities, track contract pharmacy activities, variances, savings, forecasts, and financial reporting.

• Analyze medication purchases, revenue, contract pharmacy fees, pricing, compliance, budgets, expenses, and identify savings opportunities.

• Produce budget reports, reconciliations, pharmacy spending advisories, cost savings documentation, and year-end financial reports.

• Supply data that supports performance improvements in drug utilization, purchasing, billing, and reimbursement practices.

• Reconcile expenditures with the hospital's general ledger and correct any discrepancies.

• Detect irregular spending patterns and system failures, reporting these findings to department leadership.

• Collaborate with various hospital departments, pharmacy management, system pharmacy leadership, GPOs, and wholesalers.

• Educate 340B professionals on Split Billing, Split Matching, and the relationships with Contract Pharmacy.

• Maintain financial records, policies, procedures, safeguards, and ensure system integrity.

• Oversee ordering, wholesaler pricing, invoices, shipping, and inventory management processes.

• Engage in departmental goals, change initiatives, meetings, committees, task forces, and projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Management, Hospital Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field, along with 2 years of pharmacy or healthcare experience, or 1 year of experience in pharmacy financial reporting.

• Associate degree in a relevant field, and 4 years of pharmacy or healthcare experience, or 3 years of experience in pharmacy financial reporting.

• High School Diploma with 8 years of experience in a healthcare setting.

• At least 2 years of professional experience in healthcare, preferably within Pharmacy.

• Direct experience in data analysis and/or healthcare planning is preferred.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access.

• Capability to walk and stand for extended periods.

• Ability to lift 30 pounds and push 50 pounds.

• Dexterity to finger, handle, and reach effectively.
