Personnel Security Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Initiate background security investigations and processing for various clearance types and levels utilizing DISS, NBIS, and fillable SF86 forms.

• Manage suitability actions, Common Access Cards, and HSPD-12 compliance.

• Collaborate with FSOs, CSOs, Security Representatives, government clients, employees, and applicants.

• Coordinate with OPM regarding personnel investigations.

• Conduct quality control assessments of SF86, SF85, SF85P, and related investigation packages.

• Assist employees and candidates with their security documentation.

• Process and submit SF4311 clearance actions.

• Submit CSRs and request reciprocity via DISS.

• Initiate, process, and submit SCI and SAP packages.

• Process fingerprints through SWFT or a third-party vendor.

• Track and maintain clearances within DISS and NBIS.

• Create and manage records in the Amentum Security Database of Record (Gateway).

• Conduct clearance checks and review security pre-screen forms.

• Process outgoing visit requests and certifications.

• Perform other assigned responsibilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

• U.S. Citizenship is required to retain a Secret Security Clearance.

• High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years of experience in Personnel Security or Security.

• Familiarity with DISS and NBIS is essential.

• Knowledge of NISPOM / 32 CFR Part 117 is required.

• Experience in processing SF86s via e-APP and the fillable 2008 and 2016 versions.

• Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and Adobe Pro.

• Ability to work independently in a dynamic team environment.

• Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, along with efficient workflow management.

• Positive interaction skills in person, over the phone, or through teleconferencing applications.

• Must exercise discretion when handling sensitive personal information.
