This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
• Provide support during short-term, surge, and on-demand scenarios driven by military requirements.
• Offer personal financial counseling and management services to service members and their families at military installations.
• Conduct one-on-one counseling and consultations with commanders, providers, and staff members.
• Facilitate briefings, presentations, classes, seminars, and workshops.
• Supply referral resources outside of counseling sessions.
• Collaborate with installation and military branch Points of Contact to ensure the program aligns with installation needs and stays within scope.
• Assist service members in creating spending plans for extended absences.
• Develop and disseminate informational financial materials.
• Organize and promote Personal Financial Management classes and workshops throughout the military lifecycle.
• Provide virtual counseling through secure online chat, web-based platforms, video, or secure video teleconference methods when permitted.
• Handle duty-to-warn scenarios in accordance with Department of Defense protocols.
• Communicate with leadership and engage in individual and group supervision.
• Share trends and issues impacting assigned installations.
• Participate in in-services, training, quality improvement committees, and other contract-related activities.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• An associate degree combined with four years of experience may be accepted in place of a bachelor's degree.
• A high school diploma along with six years of experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of three years of experience in financial counseling is required.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Fluent English speaking skills are essential.
• Bilingualism in English and Spanish is required if stipulated by the contract.
• Ability to achieve a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
• Must successfully complete the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
• Must possess one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
• A valid in-state driver's license is required.
