This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
• Collect payments from patients for their responsibilities, which include deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
• Reach out to patients and their authorized family members to address any outstanding balances.
• Clarify financial responsibilities, private-pay pricing, and various financial terms.
• Establish reasonable payment plans when necessary.
• Review and manage accounts receivable to ensure accuracy and address balances.
• Investigate and resolve billing inquiries and questions related to accounts.
• Document actions taken to reconcile balances and facilitate payment resolution.
• Identify discrepancies in accounts, including adjustments, write-offs, overpayments, and refunds.
• Collaborate with the Intake team to secure signed financial documentation.
• Verify and update patient demographics and registration details.
• Deliver professional customer service to both patients and insurance representatives.
• Uphold confidentiality while adhering to federal and state regulations, patient privacy laws, and Banyan policies.
• Report to the Patient Relations Manager and work in coordination with Intake and Finance teams.
• An Associate degree is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred or an equivalent level of relevant experience.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in patient account resolution; experience in behavioral healthcare is strongly preferred.
• A solid understanding of insurance benefit terms and patient financial responsibilities.
• Exceptional organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective time management skills.
• Capability to work independently and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Familiarity with EHR systems; experience with CollaborateMD, Salesforce, and Kipu is preferred.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle processes; experience in behavioral health is preferred.
• Must be able to work during Eastern Standard Time hours.
