Peer Support Specialist – Teen Text Line, On-call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Provide peer support and create a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere for clients.

• Actively engage with clients to understand their experiences, challenges, and aspirations.

• Offer empathy, encouragement, and practical coping strategies for recovery.

• Collaborate with clinical and counseling teams to enhance the quality of client care.

• Promote a sense of belonging and community among clients.

• Participate in team meetings to share observations and updates.

• Monitor client progress and deliver ongoing support.

• Continuously enhance your peer support skills through training and personal development.

• Assist in creating recovery-focused initiatives and programs.

• Contribute to the assessment and enhancement of peer support services.

• Keep records of client interactions and progress.

• Perform general administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges, coupled with a strong commitment to recovery.

• Completion of an accredited Peer Support Specialist training program or certification is preferred (or to be completed within 90 days).

• Excellent communication and active listening abilities.

• Empathy and a proven ability to establish trust with clients.

• Competence in working effectively within a team and collaborating with clinical and counseling professionals.

• Commitment to combating stigma related to mental health and substance use.
