This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Perform unbiased, evidence-based peer evaluations of clinical cases.

• Make conclusive decisions regarding medical necessity and the quality of care provided.

• Ensure that all decisions are equitable, impartial, and consistent with contemporary practice standards.

• Submit evaluations promptly and professionally using the designated IT systems.

• Conduct independent external medical assessments remotely on an as-needed basis.

• Utilize clinical expertise to assess specialty-specific cases, medical necessities, and/or standards of care.


⛳️ Requirements

• Physician specializing in adult physical medicine and rehabilitation.

• Familiarity with the Intracept procedure is essential.

• Must possess an unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.

• Board certification is mandatory, where applicable, through ABMS, AOA, or another nationally recognized board.

• A minimum of five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience in delivering direct clinical care to patients.

• Direct clinical care experience must be within the last three (3) years.

• Understanding of the subject matter under review, along with current evidence-based clinical guidelines and innovative treatments for the condition, disease, treatment, or procedure in question.

• Clinical expertise to manage the medical or behavioral health condition or disease under evaluation.

• Must be actively involved in direct or virtual patient care for at least 20 hours per week; administrative duties do not count.

• Reliable Wi-Fi connectivity is required.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word is necessary.

• Must have access to a computer compatible with iMPROve Health’s IT systems.

• Completion of the electronic credentialing application and subsequent organizational approval is required before conducting a case review.

• A conflict-of-interest attestation must be completed upon credentialing and prior to performing a case review.

• Active hospital medical staff privileges may be necessary, depending on the situation.

• Must promptly inform the organization of any negative changes in licensure or certification status, including board certification status.

• Current employment or affiliation with any Veterans Affairs (VA) hospital, health care system, or medical center is not permitted if applying to conduct VA-related peer reviews.
