This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Perform objective, evidence-based peer evaluations of clinical cases.
• Make definitive decisions regarding the necessity of medical services and the quality of care provided.
• Ensure that evaluations are impartial, fair, and in accordance with contemporary practice standards.
• Submit assessments promptly and professionally utilizing the specified IT systems.
• Conduct independent external medical reviews remotely on an as-needed basis.
• Must possess an unrestricted medical license in any state within the U.S.
• Board certification is required, if applicable, through ABMS, AOA, or another recognized national board.
• A minimum of five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience delivering direct clinical care to patients.
• Experience in direct clinical care within the last three (3) years.
• Familiarity with the subject under review or current evidence-based clinical guidelines and innovative treatments.
• Clinical proficiency to address the medical or behavioral health condition or disease being evaluated.
• Must be actively involved in direct or virtual patient care for at least 20 hours weekly; administrative roles do not qualify.
• Access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Competence in Microsoft Word.
• Access to a computer that is compatible with iMPROve Health's IT systems.
• Completion of the electronic credentialing application and obtaining organizational approval prior to conducting a case review is required.
• A conflict of interest attestation must be completed during credentialing and before performing a case review.
• Active hospital medical staff privileges may be necessary, as applicable.
• The organization must be informed of any adverse changes in licensure or certification status.
• Applicants cannot currently be employed by or affiliated with any Veterans Affairs hospital, healthcare system, or medical center when applying for VA-related peer reviews.
