This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct independent external medical reviews remotely on an as-needed basis.
• Perform objective, evidence-based peer reviews of clinical cases.
• Make final assessments regarding the necessity of medical services and quality of care.
• Ensure that decisions are impartial, equitable, and in accordance with contemporary standards of practice.
• Submit reviews promptly and professionally through the provided IT systems.
• Fulfill credentialing and conflict-of-interest obligations prior to undertaking case reviews.
• Inform the organization of any negative changes in licensure or certification status.
• Must possess an unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state.
• Board certification is required, if applicable, through an ABMS-, AOA-, or another nationally recognized board.
• A minimum of five (5) years of full-time equivalent experience delivering direct clinical care to patients.
• Experience in direct clinical care within the last three (3) years.
• Familiarity with the subject matter under review or current, evidence-based clinical guidelines and innovative treatments.
• Clinical expertise to address the medical or behavioral health condition or disease under examination.
• Must be actively involved in direct or virtual patient care for a minimum of 20 hours each week; administrative roles do not qualify.
• Reliable access to Wi-Fi is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word.
• Computer must be compatible with iMPROve Health’s IT systems.
• Completion of the electronic credentialing application and obtaining organizational approval is mandatory before conducting a case review.
• A conflict-of-interest attestation must be completed during credentialing and prior to performing a case review.
• Active hospital medical staff privileges may be necessary, as applicable.
• Must notify the organization of any adverse changes in licensure or certification status.
• Current employment or affiliation with any Veterans Affairs hospital, health care system, or medical center is prohibited when applying for VA-related peer reviews.
