Peer Advocate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct outbound calls to members focusing on specified health interventions or quality initiatives.

• Establish rapport with members by sharing personal experiences as both a member and peer to enhance the impact of health education and boost the chances of positive behavior changes.

• Guide members in developing and executing strategies that reduce risks related to common health conditions.

• Motivate and assist members who may face challenges in accessing care.

• Offer support, advocacy, resources, encouragement, and a compassionate ear to individuals dealing with mental health challenges, addiction, or other life difficulties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Current SCAN Membership is mandatory.

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.

• Proficiency in computer operation, including navigating multiple systems such as online timesheets (time and attendance) and call center software.

• Significant experience with computer applications (MS Office products) and internet usage.

• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to express one’s personal SCAN membership experience clearly.

• Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish, Korean, or Chinese is an advantage.

• Strong interpersonal abilities, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Strong organizational capabilities.

• Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and dependable transportation.

• Interest in AI and its potential to enhance our operations and member services.

• A background check is necessary.
