Pediatric CDI Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Evaluate assigned patient medical records to ensure comprehensive and precise documentation of relevant diagnoses and procedures.

• Initiate and finalize queries as needed to accurately reflect patient inpatient or outpatient visit data.

• Comply with guidelines established by ACDIS, AAPC, and AHIMA.

• Uphold strict confidentiality of patient information in alignment with HIPAA regulations.

• Utilize knowledge of DRG payer issues, audit risks, documentation opportunities, quality metrics, and hierarchical condition categories.

• Collaborate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management to address assignment-specific requirements.

• Efficiently use computer software tailored to specific client needs.

• Educate and engage with providers to ensure documentation accurately reflects patient complexity.

• Travel to field sites may be necessary up to 15% of the time.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in clinical documentation integrity.

• Experience in Pediatric CDI, including CDI for Surgical Pediatrics (excluding NICU).

• Possession of CCDS or CDIP certification.

• Current RN license or graduation from medical school with at least 5 years of acute care experience preferred.

• Strong analytical abilities to clinically assess medical records.

• Proficient in using a PC for medical record review.

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

• Effective communication skills with e4health management and clients.

• A BSN, in addition to an RN license, is preferred.

• Candidates for U.S.-based positions must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
