PCB Design Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and create intricate layouts for printed circuit boards.

• Collaborate on cutting-edge designs for new or enhanced RF printed circuit boards.

• Establish and maintain design standards and configurations.

• Work from initial schematics, component lists, and basic board-function descriptions.

• Review design layouts and detailed drawings for accuracy.

• Develop PCB/PCBA designs utilizing Altium software, incorporating mechanical and electrical inputs.

• Create and modify schematics as directed by engineers.

• Develop library symbols, footprints, and 3D models for components.

• Analyze PCB design trends and processes, assessing and implementing relevant practices at Ezurio.

• Conduct studies of design feasibility concerning packaging, cost, manufacturing, and system performance.

• Execute complex CAD and CAE tasks.

• Ensure PCB designs adhere to design for test (DFT) and design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.

• Present PCB design trade-offs to the engineering design team.

• Coordinate with fabrication vendors regarding quotes and purchase orders, and address engineering inquiries from PCB fabricators.

• Validate quality design requirements prior to product release for manufacturing.

• Implement impedance-control requirements and signal-integrity routing practices for electrical bus interfaces and RF circuits.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Test, Quality, and Manufacturing teams during PCB design and fabrication stages.

• Resolve PCB design challenges with fabrication and manufacturing partners.

• Contribute to the creation of PCB design specifications and standards, balancing product, electrical, manufacturing, and regulatory needs to achieve quality, cost, and scheduling objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must have legal authorization to work in the US.

• Proficient in hands-on use of Altium Designer for PCB layout, library management, and PCB design release.

• Experience with Cadence or Mentor PCB design tools is advantageous.

• Familiarity with mechanical CAD tools like SolidWorks or AutoCAD is preferred.

• Ability to interpret schematics effectively.

• Strong understanding of PCB design best practices and relevant IPC standards, including IPC-2221, IPC-7351, IPC-A-600, and IPC-6012.

• Knowledge of IPC-A-610 is preferred.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

• A Bachelor's degree or technical degree is required.

• A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required.

• Experience in RF circuit PCB design is preferred.
