This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the entire Power of Attorney (POA) and Third-Party Authorization (TPA) process, which includes reviewing requests, preparing documentation, obtaining necessary signatures, submitting authorizations, and tracking the progress until completion.
• Analyze jurisdictional requirements to ensure that POA and TPA documents are precise, comprehensive, and adhere to agency guidelines.
• Work collaboratively with tax agencies, clients, and internal teams to address missing information, rejected forms, and issues related to authorization.
• Keep track of pending, rejected, and outstanding POA/TPA requests and follow up to ensure timely resolutions.
• Maintain accurate records, trackers, documentation, and case statuses.
• Identify jurisdictions that have specific TPA or authorization requirements and adhere to the appropriate processes.
• Assist in the creation and upkeep of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and reference materials.
• Offer guidance to team members regarding POA and TPA requirements and processes.
• Elevate complex or unresolved authorization issues for further assistance.
• Aid in the management of tax cases during periods of high volume, staffing shortages, or increased aged inventory.
• Review, research, and process assigned tax cases in accordance with established procedures and service-level expectations.
• Contribute to the reduction of aged cases while ensuring queue health is maintained.
• Collaborate with Case Administrators and Tax Operations teams to resolve issues and advance cases.
• Prioritize tasks based on urgency, age, jurisdiction, and business impact.
• Uphold quality and accuracy while managing both POA/TPA and case-handling responsibilities.
• High School diploma is required.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in tax is necessary.
• Strong analytical and research capabilities are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word is required.
• Excellent skills in Excel are necessary.
• Flexibility to work split shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and effectively support multiple clients are essential.
• Exceptional data entry and research abilities are necessary.
• Comfort with technology and its application in problem-solving is important.
• Ability to meet deadlines is crucial.
• A Bachelor's degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of payroll taxes is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Zendesk and/or Salesforce programs is preferred.
