Director, Global Payroll

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage the global payroll delivery team.

• Streamline and execute payroll processes across over 15 countries, adhering to policies, procedures, tax laws, labor regulations, and compliance requirements.

• Collaborate with HR and the Transformation Office to improve automation between Workday HRIS, ADP, and external benefit providers.

• Assess, adopt, and implement AI and advanced automation solutions for payroll processing, error detection, and reporting.

• Establish payroll systems for newly formed entities and assist with expansion into new regions, including M&A payroll system integrations.

• Identify automation, standardization, and process re-engineering opportunities.

• Deliver employee customer service and ensure payroll-related issues are escalated and resolved through AI-driven root-cause analysis and predictive solutions.

• Inspire and develop the global payroll team while fostering a culture of continuous learning.

• Report executive payroll KPIs to the CFO.

• Enhance and oversee internal controls, including AI-supported anomaly detection and compliance checks.

• Manage department structure and workload to optimize efficiency.

• Monitor and implement updates in global payroll legislation.

• Ensure timely and precise filing of payroll returns and issuance of W-2 and equivalent forms.

• Act as a strategic partner to HR, Finance, Legal, and Technology departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, Finance, or a related field.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is preferred.

• Over 10 years of payroll experience.

• More than 5 years of leadership experience in a global organization.

• Proven experience with global expansion, payroll setup, and M&A integrations.

• Strong technical understanding of global tax, reporting, and payroll compliance.

• Extensive experience with ADP Workforce Now, Celergo, and Workday HRIS.

• Demonstrated success in leading payroll transformation initiatives, including intelligent automation, finance outsourcing, and AI implementation.

• Strong leadership abilities with a readiness to adopt a hands-on approach when necessary.

• Proven excellence in customer service, team development, and operational delivery.

• Experience in driving change management and digital transformation in a global context.

• Ability to comply with U.S. export controls.
