This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Oversee the payroll operations of the organization, guaranteeing timely, accurate processing of payments while adhering to governmental regulations.
• Administer payroll for a multi-state (45), multi-union (15+) workforce consisting of approximately 2,000 employees.
• Develop, sustain, and evaluate payroll processing systems.
• Execute payroll transactions that encompass salaries, commissions, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Manage payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and adjustments to pay rates.
• Prepare and uphold precise records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws along with best practices.
• Assist in audits by supplying necessary records and documentation to auditors.
• Produce payroll reports, data, and analytics.
• Collaborate with the compensation team on the yearly merit planning process.
• Identify and propose enhancements to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience is necessary.
• Comprehensive understanding of the payroll function, including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
• Exceptional organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Experienced with payroll software.
• Familiarity with Workday or Ceridian payroll systems is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical, logical, decisive, and comfortable utilizing data analytics to inform decisions.
• Ability to cultivate and maintain excellent relationships at various levels within the organization.
