This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee payroll operations, which encompass payroll processing, time collection, payroll balancing, reporting, tax form management, and resolution of issues.

• Lead and nurture the payroll team by recruiting, training, coaching, managing performance, and planning for succession.

• Guarantee adherence to federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax reporting, wage and hour rules, garnishments, and record retention protocols.

• Spearhead enhancements to the payroll system, including upgrades, testing, and initiatives aimed at continuous improvement to boost efficiency, automation, and compliance.

• Act as the main payroll resource and point of contact for Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, auditors, vendors, and organizational leaders regarding payroll-related issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline.

• 5–7 years of advancing payroll administration experience, including payroll processing, compliance, and operations.

• 3+ years of leadership experience with a demonstrated capacity to develop staff, manage resources, and implement process improvements.

• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred.

• Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, and Varicella.

• Employees are required to obtain a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year of hiring and annually thereafter, or must have an approved medical or religious exemption.
