Payroll and HR Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Manage payroll for client organizations in both Canada and the US.

• Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits transactions.

• Review and authorize payroll and benefits information, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and employee benefits.

• Identify and resolve discrepancies and issues related to payroll and benefits.

• Utilize payroll systems such as Ceridian, RISE, ADP, PayWorks, and others.

• Keep abreast of system upgrades and enhancements.

• Troubleshoot and assist with system-related inquiries from clients.

• Ensure adherence to federal, state/provincial, and local payroll and benefits laws and regulations in Canada and the US.

• Create payroll and benefits reports for client management and accounting purposes.

• Prepare and file payroll and benefits-related tax documents.

• Conduct audits of payroll and benefits and suggest corrective measures as needed.

• Execute payroll and benefits account reconciliations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree and payroll certification are preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.

• Proficient in payroll and HRIS systems, ideally ADP, Ceridian, and Payworks.

• Comprehensive understanding of Canadian and US payroll and benefits laws, regulations, and tax codes.

• Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

• Outstanding communication and leadership abilities.

• Capacity to manage confidential information with care.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Experience in HR is a plus.

• Familiarity with Ceridian, RISE, ADP, PayWorks, and other payroll systems.

• Capability to manage payroll and benefits for Canadian and US clients.
