HR Operations Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee HR Operations for Doonails in a manner that is stable, precise, and scalable.

• Prepare payroll for various entities and collaborate with external payroll partners.

• Provide payroll data, conduct reconciliations, and review payroll calculations.

• Process contracts, amendments, and terminations.

• Manage HR tools such as Personio, focusing on setup, data quality, and further development.

• Take ownership of regular HR reporting, identifying patterns, risks, and opportunities for optimization.

• Lead HR Operations processes; define and continuously enhance SOPs and quality standards.

• Streamline and automate manual processes, particularly utilizing AI.

• Maintain salary bands to ensure consistency and fairness.

• Manage payroll-related benefits such as Urban Sports and company pension schemes, considering tax and legal requirements.

• Establish travel expense policies, reimbursement processes, and cost categories.

• Consolidate travel costs across teams and identify cost drivers.

• Act as the primary contact for employment law inquiries and collaborate with external advisors.

• Prepare employment law cases, obtain assessments, and ensure their execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in HR Operations, preferably in a growing startup or scaleup.

• Experience with payroll and collaboration with external payroll providers or tax advisors.

• Experience with international entities is a significant advantage.

• Solid practical knowledge of German employment law, covering contracts, fixed-term agreements, amendments, terminations, and parental leave.

• A legal degree is not mandatory.

• Awareness of data protection requirements in everyday HR activities.

• Experience with SOPs and process-related projects.

• Proficient in using HRIS platforms, ideally Personio, and Google Sheets.

• Ability to extract insights from data.

• Willingness to embrace and practically implement AI tools; familiarity with Claude or other AI tools is a plus.

• Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with sensitive issues such as salaries and contracts.

• Excellent written and spoken skills in both German and English.
