This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Process and manage bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for employees in the US, ensuring precision in wages, deductions, taxes, and garnishments.
• Oversee payroll processing in Mexico in collaboration with the Mexico payroll agency, guaranteeing accurate and timely data flow while adhering to local labor and tax regulations.
• Facilitate onboarding and orientation sessions for new hire benefits.
• Act as the main internal contact for employee benefits inquiries and address carrier-level issues in partnership with King Benefits.
• Handle employee medical leave requests, including monitoring eligibility and documentation for FMLA, state-specific leave laws, and short-term disability.
• Assist employees in navigating medical leave and the necessary paperwork.
• Coordinate with the Mexico agency to provide support for staff based in Mexico.
• Ensure compliance with payroll and employment tax regulations across all US states where Cardiff employs individuals.
• Keep up-to-date with federal, state, and Mexico regulatory changes that impact payroll and benefits.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external brokers/vendors during open enrollment, audits, and benefits renewals.
• Maintain precise payroll and benefits records and produce reports for leadership and compliance needs.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in payroll and benefits administration, preferably with multi-state and international (Mexico) payroll.
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline is required.
• In-depth understanding of US payroll tax regulations and multi-state compliance standards.
• Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and state-specific leave law requirements.
• Eagerness to learn about Mexico payroll processing and labor laws in conjunction with our Mexico payroll agency is an advantage.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present and support employees directly.
• Experience with payroll software (e.g., Rippling or similar) and benefits administration systems.
• Proficient in collaborating cross-functionally with external vendors and agencies.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
