Payroll Accounting Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Serve as the main preparer for month-end and quarter-end closing activities, including calendars, checklists, and reconciliations.

• Lead the accounting team in presenting monthly and quarterly close fluctuations to management.

• Oversee payroll accounting responsibilities, which encompass processing, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting.

• Create and implement accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance mechanisms that align with accounting policies and regulations.

• Propel improvements in accounting processes with a focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability to support company growth.

• Cultivate and sustain technical accounting knowledge in payroll compliance, processes, and controls.

• Draft accounting policies based on US GAAP technical accounting guidance while collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Recognize inefficiencies within current accounting processes and devise solutions to rectify them.

• Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure the timely completion of deliverables.

• Aid in processing the company's employee equity grants.

⛳️ Requirements

• Possess over 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in startup or high-growth settings, including at least 3 years in a public company.

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a preference for CPA certification (or equivalent).

• Demonstrate experience in payroll accounting and related compliance obligations.

• Show a proven history of successfully leading process improvement initiatives and implementing systems.

• Be proficient in NetSuite or similar accounting software, along with experience in financial systems integration.

• Exhibit outstanding organizational skills with the capability to prioritize and manage various workstreams effectively.

• Maintain a keen attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.

• Be a self-starter capable of working independently, identifying issues, and executing solutions without extensive oversight.

• Possess robust analytical skills with the ability to distill complex financial data into actionable insights.

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across functions.
