Payment Workflow Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Review trips to ensure that payments are accurately posted and align with contractual agreements and patient responsibilities.

• Rectify posting errors and document changes for record-keeping and future reference.

• Assess payments for trips submitted to collections to guarantee accurate handling and proper reporting to the agency.

• Conduct quality assurance checks on payment posting processes, including NSA trips and those flagged for write-offs.

• Investigate unaccounted payments, identify the cause, and take appropriate measures to resolve and update payment records.

• Respond to email inquiries regarding trip questions from both internal and external associates.

• Examine items marked for non-posting due to missing EOBs, ensuring prompt resolution and precise posting.

• Address posting-related inquiries from clients, vendors, and internal team members promptly.

• Comply with all HIPAA privacy policies and procedures, safeguarding the confidentiality and security of sensitive patient information.

• Consistently adhere to company attendance policies.

• Perform quality assurance on BPO posting functions.

• Undertake additional job responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

• 1–2 years of experience in medical billing and basic accounting principles is preferred but not mandatory.

• Strong experience with payment posting, deposit reconciliation, and refund research.

• Proficiency in Practice Management Systems (PMS).

• Ability to efficiently navigate various websites for remittance retrieval.

• Skilled in 10-key data entry with a minimum of 10,000 keystrokes per hour.

• Capability to type at least 35 words per minute (WPM).

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel (basic functions such as adding/removing rows/columns, AutoSum, and copying worksheets).

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.

• Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.

• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to meet deadlines.

• Experience in balancing accounts and reconciling payments.

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive financial data with discretion.

• Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to independently oversee all aspects of the job role, including meeting required goals and business practices in a remote setting.
