Payment Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Enhance the approval rate of initial payments and rebills by analyzing refusals and trends based on codes, BIN, GEO, and providers.

• Develop and configure routing and cascades according to BIN, GEO, issuing bank, and payment type.

• Set up 3DS rules and retries, and implement changes within the product.

• Monitor approval rates, chargeback percentages, fraud, reserves, and holds on a daily basis.

• Respond swiftly to payment incidents.

• Collaborate with PSPs, acquirers, and banks.

• Connect new providers and MIDs, negotiating terms and rates.

• Resolve escalations and manage transaction costs and fees.

• Ensure compliance with payment system and regulatory requirements: SCA/PSD2, Visa and Mastercard rules, PCI DSS.

• Regularly report payment metrics and the financial impact of changes to management.

• Work closely with web development, finance, marketing, and the analytics team to implement payment changes and assess their impact on revenue.

• Take ownership of web payments and establish the payment function from the ground up.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in payments, particularly with recurring payments (subscriptions).

• Hands-on experience with PSPs, acquirers, and banks: onboarding providers, negotiating terms, and resolving escalations.

• Experience in configuring routing and cascades and optimizing approval rates.

• Understanding of refusal codes, 3DS/SCA, and retry logic.

• Knowledge of risks and compliance: chargebacks, fraud, Visa and Mastercard requirements, PCI DSS.

• Ability to independently work with data and identify loss points in the payment flow.

• Ownership: independently implement changes into production.

• Structural thinking and the ability to explain the impact of changes on approval rates and financial outcomes.

• Proficiency in SQL will be an advantage.

• Experience in subscription applications or web and working with B2C products will be a plus.

• Familiarity with gateways and orchestrators, such as Solidgate, will be an advantage.

• Experience with high-risk verticals will be a plus.

• Personal contacts within PSPs will be an advantage.

• English proficiency at a B2 level for working with documentation and providers will be a plus.

• Experience working in cross-functional teams will be an advantage.

• Interest in new technologies and the use of AI tools will be a plus.
