This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Work collaboratively with the Athena team to pinpoint, investigate, and rectify duplicate or misrouted payment items through CRM.
• Aid in the balancing and assessment of third-party collection vendor accounts.
• Engage with payers to research and acquire any missing or overlooked payment details.
• Facilitate the transition of One Time Use credit card payers to EFT/ACH payment methods utilizing the BSG ticket process.
• Review, upload, and post paper remittances and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) files from payer web portals into Athena.
• Observe, document, and escalate recurring issues and unusual challenges in payment posting.
• Allocate unpostable and correspondence records to the appropriate patient accounts and claims.
• Execute additional departmental responsibilities as assigned.
• Achieve or surpass production and quality objectives.
• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with Health Insurance Websites/Portals is essential.
• Proficiency in Financial Records to resolve missing payments is mandatory.
• Skilled in reviewing Explanation of Benefits and Posting is required.
• Experience in communicating with Payers to investigate and secure missing or omitted information is crucial.
• Competence with Windows-based PC hardware and software, particularly spreadsheet applications for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills to independently identify, investigate, and rectify complex discrepancies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive patient and financial information.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods or on special projects.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to sit for extended durations; occasional walking, standing, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 pounds.
• Close visual acuity for detailed work.
