Payer Relations Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Manage and refresh payer contract rates within billing systems.

• Examine, verify, and enter payer contract rates to accurately represent negotiated agreements, fee schedules, and reimbursement terms.

• Identify and report discrepancies between contracts and system data for rectification.

• Perform regular audits and reconciliations of contract rates against original contract documents.

• Detect and address gaps or inaccuracies impacting claim reimbursement or revenue recognition.

• Record payer contracts, amendments, and rate adjustments.

• Monitor implementation dates and maintain a centralized repository for contract versions.

• Work in conjunction with billing, coding, and accounts receivable teams on rate alterations, policy updates, and system changes that influence claims processing or payment posting.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related discipline.

• Proven proficiency in utilizing PCs and Microsoft Office suites, particularly with advanced Excel skills.

• Over 3 years of experience in healthcare patient access, financial clearance, or revenue cycle operations.
