Pavement Condition Index Survey & Annotation Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovenia.

📋 Description

• Examine roadway images, inspection documentation, and outputs generated by AI.

• Assess the accuracy and consistency of pavement distress types, severity levels, and condition evaluations in accordance with PCI methodology.

• Annotate or validate features of pavement and patterns of distress, including cracking, rutting, spalling, patching, and weathering.

• Analyze images of roadways or excerpts from surveys.

• Confirm the accuracy of AI-generated classifications of pavement distress.

• Provide written feedback that clarifies model misidentifications or misunderstandings regarding severity levels.

• Explain how inspectors differentiate between similar distress categories, evaluate sampling units, and take into account real-world field conditions in PCI scoring and reporting.

• Train and assess next-generation AI models utilizing expertise in PCI surveys.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in conducting or interpreting Pavement Condition Index (PCI) surveys.

• Understanding of PCI surveys, assessments of pavement condition, definitions of pavement distress, and rating criteria.

• Experience with inspection imagery, condition reports, or planning for roadway maintenance is highly advantageous.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Capability to articulate inspection reasoning and classification decisions in an organized manner.

• Keen attention to visual details.

• Ability to consistently apply definitions of pavement distress and rating criteria.

• No previous AI or technical background is necessary.

• A secure computer and high-speed internet connection are required.
