Pavement Condition Index Survey & Annotation Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Examine roadway images, inspection documentation, and outputs generated by AI.

• Assess the accuracy and consistency of pavement distress types, severity levels, and condition evaluations in accordance with PCI methodology.

• Annotate or confirm pavement features and distress patterns, such as cracking, rutting, spalling, patching, and weathering.

• Analyze roadway imagery or excerpts from surveys.

• Validate classifications of pavement distress generated by AI.

• Provide written feedback to clarify model misidentifications and errors in severity levels.

• Distinguish between similar distress categories, evaluate sampling units, and consider the impact of field conditions on PCI scoring and reporting.

• Assist in training and evaluating advanced AI models for interpreting roadway conditions and planning infrastructure maintenance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in conducting or interpreting Pavement Condition Index (PCI) surveys.

• Knowledge of PCI surveys, assessments of pavement condition, definitions of pavement distress, and rating criteria.

• Experience with inspection imagery, condition reports, or planning for roadway maintenance is highly advantageous.

• Strong written communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate inspection reasoning and classification decisions in a structured manner.

• Keen attention to visual detail and a consistent application of pavement distress definitions and rating criteria.

• No previous AI or technical expertise is necessary.

• A secure computer and high-speed internet will be provided by the contractor.
