Pavement Condition Index Survey & Annotation Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Czechia.

📋 Description

• Examine roadway images, inspection documents, and outputs generated by AI.

• Assess whether types of pavement distress, levels of severity, and condition evaluations align with PCI methodology.

• Annotate or confirm pavement characteristics and distress patterns, such as cracking, rutting, spalling, patching, and weathering.

• Analyze roadway images or excerpts from surveys.

• Validate classifications of pavement distress produced by AI.

• Provide written insights detailing model misidentifications and errors in severity levels.

• Clarify the differences between similar distress categories, the evaluation of sampling units, and how field conditions influence PCI scoring and reporting.

• Assist in training and assessing the next generation of AI models.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in conducting or interpreting Pavement Condition Index (PCI) surveys.

• Understanding of PCI surveys, definitions of pavement distress, and criteria for rating.

• Capability to review roadway images, inspection documents, and condition reports.

• Experience with inspection imagery, condition reports, or planning for roadway maintenance is highly beneficial.

• Proficient written communication skills with the ability to articulate inspection rationale and classification decisions clearly.

• Strong attention to visual detail.

• Consistency in applying definitions and rating criteria for pavement distress.

• No prior experience in AI or technical fields is necessary.

• The contractor is required to provide a secure computer and high-speed internet connection.
