This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Facilitate effective patient journeys during therapy through care coordination, education, and psychosocial support.
• Provide education on medications and disease states.
• Offer clinical feedback to improve patient support programs.
• Educate and assist patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in the designated therapeutic areas.
• Build and maintain relationships in a fully telephonic environment.
• Counsel patients on product usage, dosing, administration methods, devices, insurance coverage, and reimbursement issues.
• Assess and aid in the development of program resources.
• Coordinate financial assistance options for patients experiencing financial difficulties.
• Adhere to program guidelines and escalate complex cases as necessary.
• Handle incoming and outgoing calls related to disease states, products, patient requirements, insurance coverage, and financial support.
• Maintain and manage patient account records using a digital CRM.
• Assist healthcare provider offices with prescription inquiries and challenges.
• Report and document adverse events and product/safety complaints in accordance with SOPs.
• Participate in customer meetings, training sessions, orientation meetings, and competency evaluations.
• Advocate for patients and providers concerning insurance coverage, medical billing, reimbursement, and access to specialized pharmaceuticals.
• Engage in shared on-call, after-hours nurse services.
• Meet training deadlines and comply with corporate policies and SOPs.
• Complete additional assigned tasks or projects.
• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN, RN).
• Valid nursing license in one or more states.
• Minimum of four years of nursing experience.
• Preferred two or more years of experience in nephrology.
• Previous telephonic experience is advantageous.
• Familiarity with medical insurance terminology, reimbursement, healthcare billing, physician offices, health insurance processing, or related reimbursement experience is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; may be required to submit a written test sample.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Experience and comfort with a digital CRM are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and thorough follow-up in communication with patients and providers.
• Empathetic listening abilities.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and adapt quickly.
• Strong customer service experience and skills.
• Must be eligible to obtain licensure in all 50 states.
• Preference for candidates who can type a minimum of 35 words per minute with 97% accuracy.
• Successful completion of a background check and, depending on the position, a drug screening.
