This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Rhode Island.
β’ Communicate effectively with insurance providers to facilitate the approval of medications.
β’ Assist patients in managing their pharmacy insurance claims.
β’ Support clinician offices with prior authorization requests and medication access.
β’ Conduct research and secure financial assistance from foundations, manufacturers, and other funding sources.
β’ Utilize pharmacy operating systems to enter data, adjudicate test claims, process refills, and create follow-up action plans.
β’ Review prescriptions in collaboration with physicians' offices.
β’ Promote medication adherence and compliance by communicating with patients via phone.
β’ Collaborate closely with pharmacists and pharmacy liaisons.
β’ Document patient concerns, prior authorization statuses, and financial assistance needs across various databases, EMRs, and email systems.
β’ Maintain precise records of patient communications and update database information accordingly.
β’ Conduct research and analyze information to aid in strategic decision-making.
β’ Enhance operations, productivity, quality, and standards of customer service.
β’ Identify trends, address issues, and recommend as well as implement improvements.
β’ Engage in process improvement initiatives.
β’ Act as a business partner to stakeholders within the organization.
β’ Uphold the confidentiality of sensitive information.
β’ Perform other assigned duties as required.
β’ At least 1 year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
β’ High School Diploma or GED is required.
β’ Must possess an active Rhode Island Pharmacy Technician license.
β’ PTCB or NHA national certification is necessary.
β’ State-registered Pharmacy Technician status is required.
β’ Continued employment is contingent upon meeting all applicable licensure and certification requirements.
β’ Strong computer skills are essential.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
β’ Ability to navigate the internet and web-based platforms is important.
β’ Data entry and computer skills will be assessed through a pre-employment evaluation.
β’ Must ensure the confidentiality of information is maintained.
