This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Manage a high volume of incoming calls from patients, their representatives, attorneys, and insurance providers.
• Assess caller requirements and address inquiries promptly and accurately.
• Investigate and document billing discrepancies using established work policies, procedures, and departmental resources.
• Implement escalation protocols for more intricate accounts.
• Communicate USACS billing policies related to patient accounts effectively.
• Recognize billing issues and take proactive measures to mitigate negative consequences.
• Uphold confidentiality and professionalism in accordance with HIPAA and USACS standards.
• Research accounts, process payments and adjustments, and manage incoming correspondence.
• Comply with departmental schedules and attendance policies to ensure efficient call center operations.
• Assist patients with billing inquiries and payment alternatives.
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in call centers, customer service, medical insurance, or billing is advantageous, though not mandatory.
• Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.
• Outstanding phone communication skills and active listening abilities.
• Capacity to adjust communication style while maintaining professionalism, composure, and empathy.
• Knowledge of Windows applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with medical insurance terminology.
• Understanding of ICD-10 and CPT coding is a plus.
• Basic math skills for managing calculations related to payments and balances.
• Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
• Willingness to request patient payments and assist in reconciling account balances.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods and occasionally walk, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 15 pounds.
• Required to have close visual acuity.
