This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.
• Act as the primary point of contact between Intermountain and patients.
• Build collaborative relationships with patients and fellow healthcare providers.
• Ensure courteous and professional interactions via phone, in-person, or secure messaging.
• Identify and address patient intake and care requirements.
• Welcome and check in/out patients while verifying provided information.
• Accurately document phone calls in the electronic medical record.
• Schedule appointments for visits, procedures, diagnostic tests, referrals, and consultations.
• Register patients and confirm, enter, or update demographic and guarantor information.
• Collect insurance cards, identification forms, and necessary signatures.
• Verify insurance coordination of benefits and manage pre-certification or prior authorization as necessary.
• Assist patients with regulatory and billing documentation.
• Scan documents and inform patients about financial assistance options.
• Request and process payments for current and past medical services.
• Stay informed about current roles and responsibilities through dashboards, work queues, emails, and meetings.
• A minimum of six months of customer service experience involving engagement with customers.
• Proven basic computer skills related to word processing and data entry.
• Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with patients and healthcare colleagues.
• Commitment to safeguarding privacy, confidentiality, and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• One year of customer service experience involving direct interactions with customers in-person and over the phone (preferred).
• Experience in billing and collections (preferred).
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Multilingual abilities (preferred).
• Capacity to see and read information, labels, documents, and monitors.
• Ability to verbally communicate and accurately comprehend spoken information quickly.
• Manual dexterity for computer usage and handling supplies and equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift supplies.
• May assist patients with entering and exiting the clinic.
