This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Oversee incoming and outgoing communications with patients, guarantors, insurance providers, and attorneys.
• Conduct conference calls and transfer inquiries to the relevant department as needed.
• Review and address uninsured accounts as well as remaining patient financial responsibilities post-insurance.
• Investigate and manage accounts that require further scrutiny.
• Clarify coverage specifics and payment options to patients and responsible parties.
• Process payments when required.
• Carefully review, document, and resolve communications with patients or their responsible parties.
• Perform skip tracing to secure the best contact information.
• Establish financial arrangements and inform patients about Government programs or Financial CARE options.
• Ensure reimbursement to Air Methods from patients or other responsible entities.
• Assist patients in navigating healthcare insurance coverage and understanding patient liabilities.
• Make final decisions regarding collectability and outstanding balances.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned.
• High school diploma or GED, along with two to three years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
• 2–3 years of experience in the healthcare billing and collections sector; preferred.
• Familiarity with Government, Commercial, and Private payers; preferred.
• One year of experience in high-value collections and financial debt counseling; preferred.
• Prior experience with dialer systems; preferred.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational skills; detail-oriented; capable of prioritizing, multitasking, and meeting deadlines.
• Outstanding customer service and telephone skills.
• Strong aptitude for balancing compassionate and empathetic customer service with account resolution objectives.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish; preferred.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• AAHAM certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
