Patient Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist in the admission of new patients by gathering and accurately entering demographic and clinical data.

• Confirm insurance coverage and assess benefits.

• Submit authorization requests and manage follow-ups as necessary.

• Evaluate the validity of prescriptions and identify any missing or necessary documentation.

• Engage with patients and referral sources to collect essential intake information.

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a prompt initiation of care.

• Maintain precise documentation that complies with HIPAA regulations.

• Previous experience in a customer service or patient service representative position within the healthcare sector.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Capable of handling multiple intake cases at once.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Knowledgeable about healthcare documentation and insurance processes.

• Must maintain a quiet and dedicated workspace, free from background noise and distractions.

• Proficient in joining virtual meetings with a professional appearance, ready for the camera.

• Demonstrates excellent time-management abilities along with accountability and self-motivation.

• Must have access to reliable, high-speed internet.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office management, or insurance assistance.

• Experience in insurance verification or authorizations is preferred.

• Background in home health, DME, or medical office settings is an advantage.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
