Patient Intake Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Assist with the admission of new patients by gathering and entering precise demographic and clinical data.

• Confirm insurance coverage and assess benefits.

• Process and monitor authorizations as necessary.

• Evaluate prescription validity and identify any missing or required documentation.

• Interact with patients and referral sources to collect essential intake information.

• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure a prompt initiation of care.

• Maintain precise, HIPAA-compliant records.

• Guide patients through the admissions process and coordinate subsequent care steps.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in a customer service or patient service representative role within the healthcare sector.

• Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.

• Capable of managing multiple intake cases concurrently.

• Able to work autonomously in a remote setting.

• Knowledgeable about healthcare documentation and insurance processes.

• Must have a quiet, dedicated workspace free from background noise and distractions.

• Competent in participating in virtual meetings with a professional appearance, ready for camera engagement.

• Possess strong time-management skills, along with accountability and self-direction.

• Must have access to reliable, high-speed internet.

• At least 2 years of experience in healthcare intake, medical office administration, or insurance support.

• Previous experience with insurance verification or authorizations is preferred.

• Background in home health, DME, or medical office settings is a plus.

• A high school diploma or GED is required.
