This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.
• Confirm mental health eligibility, benefits, and authorization criteria for both in-network and out-of-network providers utilizing phone systems, payer portals, or fax.
• Reach out to patients to gather necessary information for completing the verification process.
• Comprehend patient copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, out-of-pocket limits, authorization prerequisites, and out-of-network benefits.
• Inform and guide patients on financial alternatives when they do not have mental health or in-network benefits.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Billing, Intake teams, and patients to address insurance concerns and rectify FCR errors within the practice management system.
• Verify eligibility, benefits, authorization requirements, in-network and out-of-network benefits, and provider network status when existing patients switch insurance plans.
• Communicate with patients regarding insurance and demographic matters.
• Solve problems and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Maintain professional and timely communication with teams and patients.
• Anticipate and address patient needs effectively.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
• Experience in a Call Center setting is highly preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years in a customer service-related role, insurance verification, or general healthcare experience with a solid understanding of insurance benefits.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with patients and staff.
• Capability to accept and accurately execute oral instructions and work independently as well as collaboratively in a changing environment.
• Proficient in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities to completion, and making decisions based on situational needs.
• Competency in reading and interpreting documents such as training manuals written in English.
• Ability to speak clearly and distinctly, utilizing appropriate vocabulary and grammar, and display courteous telephone manners for phone interactions.
• Self-sufficient in completing assignments with minimal guidance and supervision.
• Skilled in independent decision-making techniques while performing various job responsibilities.
• Ability to prioritize tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.
• Demonstrate a willingness and aptitude for learning new responsibilities and adapting to frequently evolving procedures.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
