Patient Financial Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Execute diverse responsibilities to enhance the revenue cycle, ensure compliance, and improve the patient experience.

• Efficiently and accurately handle registration, financial screening, verification, and patient throughput activities.

• Achieve personal collection targets.

• Foster a close partnership with clinical team members to guarantee a smooth and positive experience for patients and caregivers.

• Distribute legal, ethical, and compliance-related documents and thoroughly explain them to patients during registration.

• Deliver professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients, families, employees, physicians, and community members.

• Assist with operations in the Emergency Department and BOS Digital Registration.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School diploma, Certification, GED, Training, or Experience.

• Successfully complete the Patient Access training course.

• Capability to thrive in a fast-paced public health or Revenue Cycle environment, with proven experience in payment collection, including billing, sales, and customer service.

• In the absence of a degree and/or experience, a highly motivated individual must demonstrate required skills in a professional manner and possess a clear ability to excel in the role.

• Proficiency in basic mathematical calculations.

• Detail-oriented, organized, a team player, compassionate, and possessing excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain an agile mindset.

• Familiarity with healthcare regulatory guidelines, including but not limited to HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, etc. (Preferred)

• Understanding of insurance contracts, collections, authorizations, pre-certifications, Microsoft Office products, and EMR applications.

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Bilingual in English and Spanish/Creole is preferred.

• Essential staff availability to work on weekends, holidays, and during emergency events.

• Minimum required experience: less than 1 year.
