This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Engage with the rare disease community, including patient advocacy organizations, to gain insights into the rare experience and integrate these perspectives throughout PTC.
• Collaborate with internal PTC teams to identify, educate, cultivate, and utilize relationships with individuals living with rare diseases, their caregivers, and Patient Advocacy Organizations.
• Assist communities in accessing resources to eliminate barriers and secure coverage for marketed products, when appropriate.
• Establish patient advocacy and community connections for marketed product disease states and products in development, in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Work cross-functionally with medical, communications, commercial, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to guidelines, standards, and regulations.
• Connect families with Patient Advocacy Organizations and available resources.
• Develop, plan, and implement educational programs for individuals living with rare diseases and their caregivers.
• Support Patient Advocacy Organizations through shared interests in education and programs.
• Collaborate with the rare disease community to advocate for access to care and therapies.
• This is a field-based role primarily supporting the Phenylketonuria (PKU) community and potentially other therapeutic-area communities.
• Travel up to 75% domestically, including overnight stays, weekends, and evenings as needed; potential for international travel.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, advocacy, medical, or related field.
• Experience supporting individuals with rare diseases, their caregivers, and advocacy organizations.
• In-depth understanding of healthcare, specialty pharmacy, pharma, and biotech industries.
• Adherence to all compliance regulations and confidentiality standards.
• Proven leadership experience as part of cross-functional teams.
• Track record of building and maintaining robust relationships, both internally and externally.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Zoom.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, matrixed team environment.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities; adaptable to changing priorities and deadlines.
• Competence in planning, organizing, and time management.
• Ability to quickly, confidentially, and accurately enter data into CRM systems.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory, country, and potentially internationally.
• A degree in a relevant clinical or scientific discipline, such as nursing, public health, social work, nutrition, or dietetics, is preferred.
