This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +21 more states.
• Process patient payments over the phone in accordance with Privia financial responsibility guidelines.
• Establish, update, and manage payment plans.
• Ensure accuracy in transactions, documentation, and data integrity.
• Interpret and clarify claim notes, balances, and billing results to patients.
• Verify, audit, and update insurance details.
• Add or modify insurance information in the EMR and resubmit pending or corrected claims.
• Educate patients about coordination of benefits, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials.
• Identify discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing challenges.
• Investigate account history to uncover the root cause of billing or payment issues.
• Recommend resolutions and next steps that align with Privia policies.
• Navigate various billing systems and EMR platforms concurrently.
• Comply with documentation, privacy, security, and HIPAA standards.
• Maintain adherence to scheduled hours and availability during assigned shifts.
• Complete necessary Privia and client-mandated training.
• Engage in ongoing uptraining and cross-training initiatives.
• Exhibit professionalism, accountability, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to service.
• Prior experience in customer service or call centers is mandatory.
• Strongly preferred experience in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims.
• Experience in payment processing or financial transactions is preferred.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Technical proficiency with EMR systems and standard computer applications is essential.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or virtual setting.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding English is necessary.
• A background check is required in compliance with applicable laws.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail are required.
• A solid understanding of healthcare billing and insurance principles is important.
• Capability to clearly convey complex billing information in a patient-friendly manner.
• Comfort with working across multiple systems and tools simultaneously is necessary.
• An organized, self-motivated, and collaborative work ethic is essential.
• Starting pay of $14 per hour.
• Additional $1 per hour shift differential for nights and weekends.
• Paid training, typically lasting 2 weeks.
• Full-time position, requiring 40 hours per week.
• Eligibility for benefits starting on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
