This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +21 more states.
• Manage patient payments over the phone in accordance with Privia's financial responsibility guidelines
• Establish, revise, and oversee payment arrangements
• Guarantee accuracy in transactions, documentation, and data integrity
• Clarify and explain claim notes, outstanding balances, and billing results to patients
• Validate, audit, and refresh insurance details
• Input or modify insurance information in the EMR and refile pending or adjusted claims
• Inform patients about benefit coordination, deductibles, coinsurance, copays, timely filing, and claim denials
• Detect inconsistencies and collaborate with internal teams to address billing discrepancies
• Investigate account history to identify reasons for billing or payment issues
• Propose solutions and subsequent actions in line with Privia policies
• Navigate various billing systems, EMR platforms, tools, and informational resources
• Adhere to schedules and be available during designated hours
• Fulfill mandatory Privia and client-specific training requirements
• Engage in uptraining and cross-training programs
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality, privacy, security, and documentation standards
• Deliver professional, accountable, compassionate, and patient-focused service
• Experience in customer service or call center settings is essential
• Background in healthcare billing, insurance, or claims is highly preferred
• Preference for experience in payment processing or financial transactions
• A high school diploma or GED is required
• Proficiency in EMR systems and standard computer applications is necessary
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote or virtual setting
• Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English
• Background check is mandatory in compliance with relevant laws
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential
• Comprehensive understanding of healthcare billing and insurance principles
• Capability to articulate complex billing information in a manner that is easily understood by patients
• Comfort with utilizing multiple systems and tools simultaneously
• An organized, self-driven, and collaborative work approach is key
• Shift differential of $1/hour for evening and weekend shifts
• Paid training, generally lasting 2 weeks
• Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week
• Eligibility for benefits starting on the first day of the month following 60 days
