This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Handle incoming calls from patients, insurance companies, doctors' offices, and healthcare facilities.
• Address inquiries and concerns related to billing, claims, denials, payments, and collections.
• Log all customer interactions, resolutions, and referrals.
• Resolve queries directly whenever feasible.
• Respond to written inquiries and inform patients about any delays.
• Clearly explain account situations in straightforward language.
• Complete assigned tasks promptly.
• Participate in in-service training sessions.
• Identify and report complaint trends to management.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards.
• Document all actions in system notes.
• Deliver friendly, personalized service.
• Achieve customer satisfaction and meet productivity/performance benchmarks.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate’s degree in health or business administration, or a related field, is preferred.
• A combination of education and experience may be accepted.
• Experience in a healthcare organization is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or billing collections is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate charges, payments, and adjustments.
• Knowledge of insurance processing, guidelines, and relevant laws concerning all payers.
• Proficiency in using the IDX practice management system is required.
• Exceptional customer service abilities.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Data entry skills are essential.
• Basic understanding of CPT, ICD-9, and ASA coding.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Willingness and ability to follow instructions and adhere to company policies.
• Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, including occasional standing and walking, frequent sitting and hand/finger movements, using office equipment, and effective verbal and written communication.
