This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Answer incoming calls from patients, insurance providers, physician offices, and healthcare facilities.
• Address inquiries and complaints related to billing, claims, claim denials, payments, and collection activities.
• Log customer interactions, resolutions, and any follow-up actions taken.
• Resolve questions directly when possible.
• Respond to written inquiries and inform patients about any delays in resolutions.
• Clearly explain account situations using straightforward language.
• Complete assigned tasks promptly.
• Participate in in-service training and remain updated on contract and procedural changes.
• Identify and report complaint trends to management.
• Uphold strict confidentiality standards.
• Document all actions within the system notes.
• Deliver courteous and professional personal service.
• Achieve customer satisfaction while meeting productivity and performance standards.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An Associate’s degree in health or business administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A combination of education and experience may be considered as equivalent.
• Experience in a healthcare organization is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or billing collections is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong math skills, including the ability to calculate charges, payments, and adjustments.
• Familiarity with insurance processing, regulations, and general laws applicable to all payers.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in using the IDX practice management system.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Capability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Data entry proficiency.
• Basic understanding of CPT, ICD-9, and ASA coding.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent analytical capabilities.
• Friendly demeanor and high tolerance level.
• Positive attitude towards teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal supervision.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Willingness and ability to adhere to directions and company policies.
• Capability to fulfill the specified physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
