This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Handle incoming phone calls from patients, insurance providers, physician offices, and healthcare facilities.
• Address inquiries and complaints related to billing, claims, claim denials, payments, and collections.
• Record all customer interactions, resolutions, and subsequent actions.
• Resolve questions directly whenever feasible.
• Respond to written inquiries and communicate any delays in resolution.
• Clearly explain account situations in straightforward language.
• Complete assigned tasks promptly.
• Participate in in-service training and stay updated with contract and procedural changes.
• Recognize and report complaint trends to management.
• Uphold strict confidentiality at all times.
• Document all actions within system notes.
• Deliver positive and courteous personal service.
• Achieve customer satisfaction and meet productivity/performance standards.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An associate’s degree in health or business administration, or a related field is preferred.
• A combination of education and experience will be taken into account.
• At least 1 year of experience in customer service or billing collections is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to calculate charges, payments, and adjustments.
• Understanding of insurance processing, guidelines, and general laws applicable to all payers.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency with the IDX practice management system.
• Excellent customer service capabilities.
• Effectively manage multiple tasks.
• Data entry proficiency.
• Basic knowledge of CPT, ICD-9, and ASA codes.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Capable of working effectively and independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Willingness and capability to follow directions and company policies.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Occasional standing and walking are required.
• Frequent sitting and hand/finger movement are necessary.
• Proficient in using office equipment, whether in-office or remote.
• Capable of communicating verbally and in writing.
